Government denies negotiations for more Chinese aircrafts

October 25, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The possibility that the Government buys more Chinese aircraft was emphatically ruled out and it was even taken with surprise by President Luis Guillermo Solís, who said the country “cannot afford it”.

At this time,

… All the renovated equipment for the Air Surveillance Service of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) in the coming months is the result of donations. It does not come from other sources.”

The president participated in the arrival of the two aircraft donated by China. The type Y 12E, light machines are fully equipped with 2 engines with a capacity for 16 to 17 people, and they are also designed to carry passengers, cargo, patrols and maritime surveillance.
