Help 200 children in the South Zone return to school

January 28, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Some 200 children from the Southern Zone of the country need help to go back to school on February 6th.

The volunteer program of the University of Costa Rica (UCR) is organizing a collection of school supplies for these children whose parents have a hard time to purchase the materials.

The beneficiaries will be students from schools in the canton of Osa, Alto Laguna, Benegas, Sábalo, Boca Guarumal, Boca Zacate, La Amapola, San Juan, Progreso and Miramar.

You can donate stitched notebooks (preferably 100 sheets), graphite pencils, pens (blue and black), colored pencils, highlighters, erasers, geometry sets, rubber, scissors, as well as brushes, colored papers, educational board games, play dough and children’s literature in good condition.

Donations will be received until February 7th in the office of the volunteer program, located in San Pedro, Montes de Oca, adjacent to the Office of Disclosure and Information (ODI) of the UCR.
