ICE union leaves letter after being ignored by the President

August 9, 2016 by Staff News Writer

ICE union leader, Fabio Cháves, said that the fact that neither the President nor any minister would talk to them after a 2 hour demonstration towards the Presidential House “was very disrespectful.”

We told them we would not enter unless the President or at least the Minister of the Presidency received us. They told us they would send their deputy ministers, but we refused to meet with subordinates because they have no political power to make decisions,”

said Cháves.

Ultimately, the leaders decided to leave the paper on the floor, which would be delivered to Luis Guillermo Solís.

The ICE will announce whether or not they’ll call for an indefinite strike between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The protesters marched for more than 2 hours from the ICE building located in Sabana Norte to the Presidential House where they remained at the gate waiting to be received by the President or any of the ministers.

It seems that he is ashamed or they will not let him receive us, so now they must face the consequences,”

said Cháves.
