The Ministry of Security affirmed that, according to unofficial information, Panamanian authorities are allowing African immigrants to cross to Costa Rican territory.

This is a wake-up call due to the vulnerability that exists, especially on Panamanian side. Irregular immigrants are crossing the border without any regulation,

expressed the Ministry’s press office.

People without legal documents and who don’t meet the minimum requirements are entering the country massively and, despite the police presence in Costa Rican borders, the situation is not stopping. Authorities warn that once detected, they will prosecute to the full extent of the law.
