Increase in fuel prices will apply from May 4th

May 3, 2019 by Staff News Writer

The Public Services Regulatory Authority (ARESEP) informed on Tuesday of the approval for an increase requested by the Costa Rican Petroleum Refinery (RECOPE) in the price of fuels and it will take effect this Saturday, May 4th at 00:00

The prices are as follows:

Liter of Super gasoline will go from ¢618 to ¢ 691 for an increase of ¢ 73.
Liter of gasoline Plus 91 will increase from ¢ 602 to ¢ 669, ¢ 67 in total.
Liter diesel will go from ¢ 542 to ¢ 568 for an increase of ¢ 26.

The study proposed by RECOPE almost three weeks ago updated the international prices of fuel, the exchange rate, the fishermen’s subsidy and the sector policy.

On the other hand, every 2 months the value of the price differential is updated (tariff lag) and every three months it is carried out with the single tax.
