La Palma School was greatly affected by the rains!

November 18, 2016 by Staff News Writer

La Palma School was greatly affected by the heavy rains, it is flooded and there is water everywhere: writing desks are floating, floors are not visible and its gates are closed.

Children were not able to attend classes. In addition, the school will be closed until everything goes back to normal because the rains caused several rivers to overflow.

According to the National Emergency Commission (CNE), This is just one out of the 29 communities affected by the downpours in the South Pacific and a yellow alert was declared in the area.

Ivan Brenes, director of the organization, stated that shelters are not required so far, but if necessary, authorities will enable care centers.
