Laura Chinchilla: “If Maduro falls, Ortega falls”

February 22, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Once again, former president Laura Chinchilla showed her support for Nicaraguans and Venezuelans, who are being victimized by their rulers.

On Wednesday, she told the Nicaraguan journalist, exiled in Costa Rica, Gerall Chávez, that

The international community has a strong solidarity with Nicaragua, but we also have Venezuela; the two go in parallel, if Maduro falls, Ortega falls, so they are struggles that must be kept together.”

While Chinchilla participated in the inauguration of the art exhibition by Jiménez Deredia, she also expressed her repudiation against any representative of the Ortega-Murillo government in the country.

This is due to the arrival of the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda.

The message was more than clear: rejection to any person who represents a regime that is persecuting its own people.

We are glad that the mayor of Managua is not here and should never enter the country,”

emphasized Chinchilla.
