Legislator Ottón Solís arrested in Nicaragua?

February 27, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The blog Infierno in Costa Rica published that legislator Ottón Solís had been arrested in Nicaragua on Friday.

I was told that Ottón Solís arrived at the northern border in the Delta Costa Rica and crossed to the Nicaraguan side. It seems that the authorities arrested him for a while because of this,”

says the publication.

Although the headquarters in Peñas Blancas border confirmed to the Costa Rican Consulate in Nicaragua they have no records of any legislator from the Citizen Action Party crossing the border, the security forces have a different information.

What we can confirm is that he left for Delta Costa Rica, everything in order, and we do not know what happened in Nicaragua,”

said Carlos Hidalgo, Security Ministry spokesman.

The party has no reports of the alleged arrest. Yoko Chaverrí, journalist from the party, said the legislator was in the Northern Zone working with people from the Nation Group, but denied he had any problems with Nicaraguan authorities.
