John Wasley Saatio, a dangerous sex offender, lived in Costa Rica for almost a year.

According to Gladys Jiménez, chief of  the Immigration Department, the convict admitted to crossing the border illegally.

Reports from Immigration state that Saatio arrived in July, 2015 and he even worked in Jacó, where he was also arrested a few weeks ago. In The United States, Saatio has a 25 year sentence for sex crimes, but he also has records for unlawful intrusion, destruction of police property and parole violation. He escaped prison after attending a hearing in Missouri.

According to Juan José Andrade, chief of the Public Force, the 34-year-old criminal is a master in escaping and he can even break prison handcuffs.

Saatio asked for refuge in the country but it won’t happen, sinceG ustavo Mata, minister of security, said

“he’s an undesirable, unpleasant person. We don’t want him here.”
