Man arrested with 51 iguanas

After several days of investigation, yesterday at 3 a.m. a 55-year-old man was arrested in Santa Bárbara de Santa Cruz. The man was on a bus with 51 iguanas, one adult and 50 newborns, to allegedly try and sell then in San José.

The operation was in charge of the regional office of the Judicial Investigation Agency in Santa Cruz and the Ministry of Environment.

The man was violating the Law on the Protection of Wildlife and he was therefore taken to the prosecution.
