Monge Mora owes almost 160 million colones to the Costa Rican Social Security Fund

March 23, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Roberto Mora, famous “Collector of the Fund”, informed that Monge Mora, suspect of running over and killing 4 cyclists on January 29th, owes almost 160 million colones to the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) , through 2 companies of which he’s worked for.

This is stated in the records of the health institution, which anyone can consult.

The driver of the black Mustang, linked to the accident, is registered as a secretary in 2 companies that owe hundreds of millions of colones to the Social Security Fund. An administrative, as well are a judicial process are already taking place.

One of the companies owes an amount of 71,902,846 colones. This company was part of a controversy years ago, for allegedly not paying the bonus to a group of toll collectors when they were in charge of the operation on Route 27.

The other company is Evolving Business Opportunities SA: it owes 85 million colones to the CCSS.

The suspect has to comply with precautionary measures for the death of 4 cyclists: 3 of them immediately died on the day of the accident and Lucia Mata died yesterday at Calderón Guardia hospital, after fighting for her life for almost 2 months.
