More and more officials who vacationed during strike are being fired

March 18, 2019 by Staff News Writer

The fact that last year’s strike in the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) was declared legal, did not prevent the dismissal proceedings against officials who left the country during this period.

This continues and is resolved every week since then. There are some that for reasons of the procedure itself are abandoned because they may be justifying, but every case is being examined, they all conclude in one direction or another,”

said Edgar Mora, Minister of Public Education.

He also stated that the MEP has no interest in ceasing in its effort to protect the interests of the education system.

The Department of Disciplinary Management through the Press Office indicated that so far there have been 26 interim dismissals without employer responsibility.

Other cases are under investigation, pending resolution and about 100 cases have been acquitted.
