National athletes will benefit from a new Japan-Costa Rican cooperation agreement!

The National Olympic Committee (CON) and Japan signed a new cooperation agreement that will bring great benefits to national athletes.

Mamoru Shinohara, ambassador of Japan to Costa Rica and Henry Núñez, president of the NOC, signed an agreement that will] benefit 5 sports federations:

-Table tennis
-Gymnastics
-Fencing
-Boxing
-Synchronized swimming

We are grateful to the Japan Olympic Committee for trusting our athletes through the “Sport for Tomorrow “program that they will use to provide us financial assistance,

declared Núñez.

On the other hand, Shinohara declared that the program aims to promote sport through the improvement of facilities, the provision of equipment and organization of sporting events.

Relations between both countries have strengthened since 2015 and Costa Rica has been greatly benefited.
