Through several photographs published on September 26th, people can see great ash accumulations in the the volcano.

Turrialba volcano has been erupting for more than a week and the ash has affected communities in the Central Valley.

From Sunday night to early Monday, an eruption remained constant for a period of 4 hours, which affected Moravia, Coronado, Heredia, Tibás, Desamparados, among others.

Another event occurred at 12:42 pm, it was followed by an internal earthquake and a passive emanation of ash. An hour later, the eruption was still taking place. Volcanologists cleaned solar panels.

Due to the eruption, authorities from Juan Santamaría Airport closed its doors for three hours. However, it has now resumed its operations.
