OIJ investigates social network threats after shooting in Limón

March 16, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) is now conducting an investigation on a series of text messages in social networks alluding to a possible revenge after the shooting that occurred last night in Limón.

According to the judicial authorities, these types of messages are common after clashes between gangs, but are also used to divert and confuse the investigators.

These messages are common in the Caribbean Zone. They may have the task of misleading the investigation or they may be true, so we analyze them. But they are not necessarily true, they may be a joke or they may have a spirit of involvement,

said Wálter Espinoza, director of the OIJ.

Preliminary investigations by the OIJ point out that the attack last night was directed towards a man named Aragón, who had a background for drug trafficking and a woman named Lawson who was the sentimental partner of a man named Kelly, also known as “Chita”, who is related to organized crime.
