OIJ: “the OIJ does not stalk anyone”

December 23, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) explained how the Police Information Platform (PIP) works.

This week, judge of the Third Chamber Celso Gamboa reported that he had being spied on without any reason. It is also important to highlight Keylor Navas’ case, who was consulted on many occasions during 2014 by judicial officials.

The system has no flaws. The OIJ does not stalk anyone, it doesn’t publish secret data, it does not conduct espionage activities of any kind,

declared Walter Espinoza, director of the OIJ.

The official added that two internal audits were recently made and no flaws were found on the system.

It is a very basic tool that we use to conduct investigations. From the security point of view, it is safer than platforms from Mexico or Colombia. There is no doubt about the fate of the information,

stated the official.

In the PIP, 2,000 daily consultations are carried out, mostly by administrative officials from the Judicial Branch, for purposes of notification or property records.
