Prosecutors and OIJ checked information from Magistrate Gamboa

December 21, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) referred to the complaint of alleged espionage made by the judge of the Third Chamber, Celso Gamboa Sánchez.

According to the official complaint, several officers, prosecutors and employees made 14 unauthorized queries about him between 2013 and 2016.

After a report requested from the OIJ, Gamboa confirmed that nine officials made inquiries about him in the section of Integrated Police Information Platform (PIP).

One of the officials who consulted on Gamboa was a police officer of Tres Ríos, who was fired months ago. But the inquiries were made when he was still an employee of the Judiciary.

Although the agent was apparently removed for providing information to criminal groups, director Walter Espinoza did not confirm this version.

From January 22nd 2015, following the espionage case against Keylor Navas, the Court ordered to modify the entry for consultations. It can only be accessed under a single number: for example, a criminal record.

However, an official from the human management department of the Judiciary check some information on May 11th 2016.
