Ortíz confirms he will continue the fight to lead the PUSC

January 9, 2017 by Staff News Writer

By mid-2016, Rafael Ortíz announced that he would be a pre-candidate for the Social Christian Unity Party. He began to work, to make himself known, to create structures; and at the end of 2016 he made an assessment of the results and confirmed his aspirations to fight for the presidency in February 2018.

According to Ortíz, he has found support from many people throughout the provinces of Costa Rica.

The legislator will fight to be the Christian Socialist candidate against Rodolfo Piza and Miguel Carabaguíaz, who also announced their political intentions. The PUSC convention would be taking place on June 4th, although that date has to be ratified by the party’s authorities.

For the first months of 2017, Ortíz plans to focus on strengthening the structure of the trend in the cantons of the country, putting his first efforts on district elections to have a strong communication plan to get followers.
