Ottón Solís to Ana Zuñiga: “you offend Costa Ricans”

March 10, 2017 by Staff News Writer

After listening to deputy minister of the Presidency Ana Gabriel Zúñiga’s reasons to justify the millionaire payment she received as a exclusive-dedication incentive without meeting the requirements, legislator and founder of Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC) Ottón Solís answered:

You offend Costa Ricans.

Among other explanations, Zúñiga said that she has been a “victim” of human resources systems and of the regulation confusions, through which she received ¢ 30 million as an incentive.

I am astonished that you say that you are a victim while you are in a position of great power … you could only be a victim of ignoring the law, but we must repeat that there is jurisprudence and ignorance before the law can’t be alleged,

declared Solís in the Commission for Control of Income and Public Expenditure of the Legislative Assembly, which investigates the incentive millionaire payments granted to deputy minister Zúñiga and former housing minister Ana Cristina Trejos.

In his speech, Solís also said that he is surprised for minister of the Presidency Sergio Alfaro’s explanations, who declared that in previous governments, cases of incentive irregular payments have also taken place.
