Owners of a grocery store were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking activities

December 21, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The owners of a grocery store in Limón, where 2 people were killed in November, were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking activities.

The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) detained 3 people, including 2 women. The raids were carried out in Limón and in a residential building in Santa Bárbara de Heredia.

The operations are led by the OIJ of Limón. However, there is participation of the OIJ of Heredia and members of the Special Intervention Unit (UEI).

During the investigation, authorities located two firearms, drugs and cash. Everything seems to be related to criminal activities.
