President did not find support from legislators for Bancrédito transformation

November 24, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The Presidential House is trying to have a successful transformation of Bancredito into a development bank. However, so far all attempts have failed.

Last Monday President Luis Guillermo Solís met with three legislators from Cartago to present the project and ask for their support; but he did not get it. Although the invitation was for the seven legislators of that province, only Marco Vinicio Redondo of PAC, Francisco Camacho of Frente Amplio and Paulina Ramírez of PLN were present.

Although it was mentioned that there was a strong discussion between Redondo and the president, the legislator said that everything happened with respect and that each of them gave their point of view.

Solís had to leave before the end of the meeting, which continued with the Minister of the Presidency, Sergio Alfaro and the Vice President and Minister of Finance, Helio Fallas.
