President Solis: “happily I will not pay for the car ownership tax this year”

November 2, 2016 by Staff News Writer

President of the Republic Luis Guillermo Solís explained that this year he will not pay the car ownership tax.

The collection of the tax for 2017 began on November 1st; however, the president said that he has lent his car to his children and they will fulfill that obligation.

Happily I will not pay for that this year,

stated Solís and he added that he usually waits for his Christmas bonus to do so.

The President explained that at the moment there is only one car at his home, the one used by First Lady Mercedes Peñas, and she always pays the tax on time.

Finally, the President sent a message to government’s officials as a reminder that they must pay on time the tax, or they will have to pay the corresponding fines.
