Prison guard arrested for taking drugs to La Reforma

November 16, 2016 by Staff News Writer

A prison guard was arrested on Tuesday at around 11:00 a.m., in the First Post of La Reforma Prison, as he entered the place with cell phones, cocaine and marijuana.

David Delgado, Head of the Press Communications Department of the Ministry of Justice, confirmed this information and said that

the guard was on vacation and returned to work today (Tuesday).”

Precisely when entering the establishment with his motorcycle,

security checks detected the drug and the cellphone in a briefcase,”

said the spokesman.

The man is still in La Reforma, and according to what Delgado reported, “the case was already referred to the OIJ, since taking drugs to a prison is a criminal offense.”

Delgado also said that they also have to open an administrative investigation process.
