Recent construction of clandestine wharf owned by Macho Coca is under investigation

A businessman from Limón named Bell, popularly known as ‘Macho Coca’, is investigated for the alleged recent construction of a clandestine pier in Portete de Limón.

Bell, linked to the fishing sector, began to be known in 2015, pointed out for building a port structure on State land in that same town.

Now, the Deputy Prosecutor investigates the alleged work done in secret.

The case is under investigation at the Deputy Attorney General for Environmental Affairs of the Second Judicial Circuit of San José,”

the Attorney General’s Office said in an email on March 27th.

There are two other investigations against Bell. One of them involves his brother for apparent usurpation of public domain property in Portete in 2015, without authorization from the Municipality of Limón and the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT).

The other one, for alleged crimes of drug trafficking and legitimation of capital, transcended in October of that same year. The businessman was arrested at his home in Limón. After 6 months in pre-trial detention, he was released under precautionary measures.
