Route to Irazú volcano is closed due to landslide

November 25, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Just 1.5 kilometers from the access to Irazú volcano, there was a great landslide which closed the road.

This was confirmed by David Meléndez, director of emergencies from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT).

This is one of the 7 routes that are closed due to landslides related to soil saturation.

These situations are attributed to the influence of Hurricane Otto on Costa Rican territory.
