Several areas affected by heavy rain son Wednesday

June 7, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The heavy rainfall has caused damages in several areas of the country.

Sigifredo Pérez, chief of operations of the National Emergency Commission (CNE), indicated that the areas where flooding sewers was reported are Golfito, Parrita, Garabito, Filadelfia, Abangares, Tilarán, Santa Cruz, Valverde Vega, among others.

Pérez said that 35 people still remain in a shelter in the community of Cachí de Cartago, set up last Monday, due to floods and landslides that occurred in that area.

The CNE is not requesting financial or food aid for these people, so if you receive a request in this regard, it is better to report it to 2210-2732.
