She knows all the countries of the world and Costa Rica is among her favorites

May 8, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Cassandra De Pecol

Cassandra De Pecol holds an enviable record: with just 27 years old, she knows all the countries in the world.

This girl from Connecticut, United States, has visited 196 sovereign nations in 18 months and 26 days since 2015, and Costa Rica is in her Top 10.

In her list of recommendations, the country holds the ninth position and she describes it as:

Monkeys, fresh fruit, good music and volcanoes… Do I need to say more?”

Her project to travel the world is called Expedition 96 and began when De Pecol was 23 years old.

I was not happy about how my life was going. I used to work sporadically, but without passion. To this was added the anxiety that you never know how much time you have left. All this encouraged me to take a step forward with great faith,”

confesses this young specialist in environmental studies.

Here is the list of Cassandra’s ten favorite destinations:
1. Mongolia
2. Bhutan
3. Maldives
4. Vanuatu
5. Pakistan
6. Oman
7. Tunisia
8. Peru
9. Costa Rica
10. United States
