Solís congratulated MOPT and CONAVI for opening La Platina

May 24, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Minutes after the opening of the six lanes of the Alfredo González Flores Bridge, President Luis Guillermo Solís addressed the country through a video on his Facebook page.

From Ecuador, after the inauguration of President Lenin Moreno, he congratulated the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and CONAVI for the work done to complete the project.

After a long process led by the minister Carlos Villalta, they managed to complete the bridge,”

said the president.

On Wednesday morning, after an inspection, Villalta called the president to announce that everything was ready and that if he gave the order, they could start the opening right then instead of waiting until Thursday, which was the date announced by the government.

I am very happy to have done so because there was no reason to delay the implementation of this crucial traffic artery for all the inhabitants of the country,”

said Solís, visibly happy for the opening.

The president also sent a message of gratitude to the road users who had to wait many years of suffering and traffic jams.

I want to thank the users of the bridge, the drivers who for so many years had to suffer the bad decisions that were made in the past,”

said Solís.
