Solís: “leaving the OAS won’t solve Venezuela’s problem”

April 28, 2017 by Staff News Writer

President Solís thinks that if Venezuela leaves the Organization of American States (OAS), it will be just a step to have less democracy in that country.

The president of Costa Rica was emphatic when saying that this decision is not a solution and it does not solve the situation Venezuela is going through: it is plunged in a political and social crisis that grows as days pass by.

We want more democracy in Venezuela, we want more respect for human rights, more respect for democratic institutions in that country. I do not think that the announced departure from Venezuela will contribute to that purpose,”

the President said.
