Strong winds cause damage in 32 areas of the country

In the last two days alone, the Fire Department has dealt with 111 emergencies due to the strong gusts of wind that hit the country. Falling trees and signs, short-circuits, and roofless structures were part of the ravages of the weather conditions during the weekend.

The most affected areas are: Limón, Grecia, Alajuela, San Pedro de Montes de Oca, Guácimo, Zarcero, Matina, Talamanca, Escazú, Liberia, Barranca, Orotina, Uruca, Pacuare, Pococí, Moravia, San Ramón, Coronado, Goicoechea, Carrizal, Barva, Aserrí, Zapote, Hatillo, Santa Ana, Abangares, Pavas, Cartago, Turrialba, San Rafael de Heredia, San Ignacio de Acosta, and Puntarenas, according to Josué Lara, spokesman of the Fire Department.

According to the Meteorological Institute, the heavy rains and strong winds will continue until Tuesday.
