The Public Force from Quepos rescued three Ecuadorians and arrested a Costa Rican

December 20, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Public Force from Quepos rescued three Ecuadorians and arrested a subject that owned a Chevrolet vehicle.

The rescued people are two women and a man in irregular immigration status. They were assisted and were referred to the Immigration Office.

The car they were traveling in was intercepted by officers of the local security forces in a place known as Los Sueños, in Quepos.

The detainee is a Costa Rican man surnamed Álvarez. He was referred to the local prosecutor as part of investigations related to possible human trafficking.

This case was uncovered thanks to a safety device known as Amanecer Seguro (Safe Dawn) that security forces deployed from early hours of the morning in strategic places.
