Thief disguised as Police Officer was arrested

Three subjects assaulted a shop selling household appliances on Wednesday, but Police caught up to them while they were fleeing with the goods and a police uniform in San José.

The Public Force received an alert of assault in Importadora Monge in Avenue 8 and after the deployment, they stopped a taxi, with a man named Calero as a passenger.

He was traveling in a taxi with 800,000 colones in cash, four Tablets, 13 cell phones, a PlayStation and a 38 revolver,”

said Erick Calderon, director of the Public Force in San José.

In the operation, a 28-yer-old man named Bonilla was also arrested in the street wearing the old uniform of the security forces and a bulletproof vest.

According to Calderón, the third suspect is a 27-year-old man named Brenes, who was traveling in a private car with the plates covered.
