Three subjects kidnapped a Mexican architect

December 21, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Three subjects, surnamed Garita, Reynolds and Pérez, were sentenced to 16 years in prison for kidnapping a Mexican architect in April 2016. His last name is Orta Salinas.

The Deputy Prosecutor Against Organized Crime (FACDO) found that the suspects contacted Orta and offered him a credit opportunity in Costa Rica. As a result, he decided to travel to Costa Rica to seal the deal.

On April 10, 2015 the victim arrived in our country and, from the airport, where the defendants were waiting for him, he was transferred to a place in Tres Ríos, La Unión. However, at that moment, Orta realized that it was a scam. The accused asked for $ 50,000 (more than 25 million colones),

explained the FACDO in a statement.

The Mexican family made a payment of $ 6,000. After a week, Orta was released.
