Turrialba volcano is is now erupting gases, ash and aerosols

Although it is weak, Turrialba volcano has been active lately and ash is reaching the Central Valley.

The Costa Rican Vulcanological and Seismological Observatory (OVSICORI) reported that the wind is going West. As a result, there is ash fall in places such as Guadalupe and San Pedro.

After 5 days without activity, the volcano entered a ‘passive stage’ and it is now erupting gases, ash and aerosols.

Ash fall was reported in San José, Tibás, Guadalupe, Coronado, Montes de Oca, Cartago and La Unión.
