Uruca has a new early intervention center

there is a A new early intervention center, from Patronato Nacional de la Infancia (PANI), in La Uruca.

This center will support 249 children of the area. Its objectives are to identify school age children who are at risk and analyze early interventions to improve their self-esteem.

Ana Teresa León, PANI CEO, also explained that the service aims to improve children’s academic ability, their emotional wellbeing, their expression and physical condition and their resilience. It also intends to promote positive raising and education processes.

Other objectives of the center are:

-to strengthen families’ ability to promote their children’s development.
-To promote community participation in order to reduce violence.
.To promote peace.
-To identify a legal guardian for each minor.

Other centers are located in Golfito, Barranca and San Carlos and some will be opened in Limón, Torremolino, Los Cuadros, Parque La Libertad, Santa Cruz, Pococí, La Carpio, San Felipe de Alajuelita, Pital y Guácimo.
