March 13, 2018 by Staff News Writer

A woman who was murdered on Monday in Pavones de Golfito was attacked just when her husband was filing a complaint against the aggressor.

According to Walter Espinoza, director of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ), the main suspect had problems with the woman and her husband since she usually visited a clandestine bar operated by the couple.

The OIJ says that there were records of discussions due to damages against the property and that the man had already tried to sexually harass the victim.

The aggressor was identified as Rodríguez Gómez, 27 years old. The subject had a history of theft, damage and resistance to authority. He slaughtered the young woman and hit her hard on the head. In addition, an alleged sexual attack is investigated.

The victim was identified as Karen Jiménez Arguedas, 26 years old.
