Solís: “Sarapiqui will be deeply affected”

November 23, 2016 by Staff News Writer

In a meeting with legislators from the Legislative Assembly, president Luis Guillermo Solís referred to the situation in the North and Caribbean Zone and declared that Sarapiqui will be deeply affected.

In addition, legislator Carmen Quesada stated that she was extremely concerned because little has been told about an evacuation in the area:

people are thinking that there will be a flood, no one have told them anything related to the strong winds, which are going to affect them the most. Please, let’s do something about it.

Iván Brenes, representative of the National Emergency Commission (CNE), explained that evacuation routes are covered by the protocols of municipal committees.
