Water isolates five tourists and their guide in San Carlos

August 3, 2018 by Staff News Writer

Five Belgian tourists and their tourist guide were isolated in the waterfall La Fortuna, in San Carlos de Alajuela, due to an increase in the waters. The foreigners are safe now.

The emergency was reported at 2:02 p.m. this Thursday and by 2:10 p.m. the Fire Department was already trying to rescue them. The tourists were on an islet, while the guide was 300 meters downstream.

The Fire Monitoring Office informed CRHoy.com that the Belgians are in good condition and that the woman had an asthma attack.
