A 61-year-old Guatemalan was transporting 53 kilos of cocaine

The Drug Control Police intercepted a 61-year-old Guatemalan surnamed Millinedo Galindo, who was driving a truck. After checking it, officers found 53 kilos of cocaine. The drug was hidden in the bottom of the container. The operation took place in La Cruz, Guanacaste.

According to the authorities, the vehicle intended to go to Nicaragua. The man was immediately arrested and taken to the Liberia Prosecutor’s Office.

The man could face a criminal case for international drug trafficking and he could spend 15 years in prison.
