September 30, 2019 by Staff News Writer

The heavy rains on Saturday afternoon and night caused landslides, floods and river overflows in several cantons of the capital.

According to the National Emergency Commission (CNE) about 110 events were registered in the country. Sigifredo Pérez, chief of operations of the CNE, explained that some 25 people remain in a shelter in Purral de Goicoechea, after a landslide.

The most affected cantons were: Coronado, Tibás, Goicoechea, Alajuelita, and Desamparados.
