Country reports 200 incidents due to rains on Sunday

September 24, 2017 by Staff News Writer

President Luis Guillermo Solís announced on Sunday that the country reported more than 200 incidents caused by rains that occurred in different areas.

The president reminded the population that the National Commission of Emergencies (CNE) maintains a yellow alert in the communities of the Central Valley, throughout the Pacific and the North Huetar region.

Only today there have been more than 200 incidents. We were alert and activated all the protocols. I have just reviewed the situation in Bajo de los Ledezma in La Uruca and in the spot of the Red Cross between Zapote and San Francisco. The situation is delicate but it is already under control,”

said Solís in social networks.

National authorities indicated that local emergency committees are constantly monitoring areas vulnerable to flooding and landslides.

During Sunday the rains caused havoc in San José, Cartago, the South Zone and the Paquera sector.
