Former mayor of San Jose, and PLN candidate for President Johnny Araya is receiving attention, after the tax department served him a notice on Wednesday morning. After making the notice, the director of the tax agency, Carlos Vargas, confirmed that Johnny Araya had failed to comply with a requirement to provide tax information, and would be liable for a fine of between ¢4 million, unless he presents the information in the next 10 days and pays a penalty of ¢2 million.

Araya commented on the situation, saying that his daughter handled his tax filings, and he will have to check to see if something is missing.
