July 28, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Ottón Solís, former presidential candidate and current legislator from the Citizen Action Party (PAC) gave his statement on Wednesday in the trial against two employees of the group, who are been accused of an alleged scam.

Sterling Mainor Araya and Manuel Antonio Bolaños Murillo, collaborators of the party in the 2010 election campaign, have been facing trial for almost 3 weeks now.

Solís appeared as a witness offered by the prosecution and defense. He said he is Bolaños’ friend, whereas Sterling is just an acquaintance.

The Public Prosecutor accuses the defendants of illegally charging 16.2 million colones during the 2010 election campaign.

Sterling was the treasurer of the party at the time, while Bolaños assisted with administrative duties.
