Suspicious semi-submersible found in Pacific waters

March 6, 2018 by Staff News Writer

Authorities of the Ministry of Public Security inspected a semi-submersible vessel that was found in the national Pacific.

This type of vessel is widely used for the transport of drugs, so the Drug Control Police (PCD) and the National Coast Guard Service will analyze the case.

The ship was located at 4:23 p.m. on Sunday, thanks to the crew of a boat that was sailing in front of Punta Burica and reported a floating device.

It is a gray ship, about 42 feet (13 meters) long, equipped with three engines, inside which there was garbage and food waste,”

said the Ministry of Security.
