Taxi drivers suspend demonstration and announce more blockades

August 10, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Although the demonstration on Tuesday was already suspended, representatives of groups of the red force (taxi drivers) say they will not stop today and announce more blockades in the future.

This was confirmed by the leader of the National Taxi Drivers Forum, Gilbert Urena, who said similar movements are to continue today, but next time they will not be announced.

At noon, the presence of taxi drivers on the streets of the Greater Metropolitan Area was gone.

Rain and multiple arrests avoided the extension of the demonstration.

I don’t know when, but all taxi drivers across the country will set the time and date, and without informing where, they’ll take the capital city,”

said Ureña.
