UNICEF and the Legislative are working together to fight mosquito Aedes Aegypti

November 9, 2016 by Staff News Writer

If there aren’t mosquitoes, there isn’t Zika, dengue or chikungunya! A campaign aims to reach 346,000 people in the country.

With the aim of keeping an eye and continue fighting the mosquito that produces Zika, dengue and chikungunya, the Government of the Republic, along with the Fund of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), launched a campaign to raise awareness in the population.

The goal is that children, youths and adults in the country take action to prevent and eliminate mosquito Aedes Aegypti breeding sites, which also transmits the Mayaro.

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health are important Unicef allies in this campaign.
